In 2009, during a collaboration on a large-scale project, Brendon and John discovered a shared commitment to integrity in their work. This mutual understanding laid the foundation for what would become Origin Build. A decade later, Dave and his team joined the company, further strengthening its foundation. With over 40 years in the building industry, John has managed numerous large-scale projects. He led EM Developments, specialising in property renovation and continues his efforts with BE (Building for Education) an aid and development charity facilitating the provision of buildings and facilities for schools in East Africa. Outside of work, John enjoys walking with his grandkids down at French Bay.
Trained by his father on the Kapiti Coast, Brendon spent a decade honing his skills before moving to London working on high-end modern and traditional builds. He later returned to Auckland and co-founded Origin Build with John in 2012. Brendon is passionate about the beauty in building deliberate and aesthetically pleasing spaces. In his spare time, you’ll find him at the local football club with his wife and four kids.
Born in the North, bred in the South, Dave has spent much of his career working with local builders on high-end projects in the central city. After running his own building company, he joined Origin Build as a director in 2019, bringing a keen eye for high-end detail and quality. On the weekend, Dave loves being a dad of 3, and enjoys the ‘other board room’ out amongst the waves at Piha.
